Four hundred hectares in the heart of Normandy

Over four decades, four hundred hectares in the heart of the rolling hills of the Orne region of Normandy have been carefully chosen and tended by Pierre Talvard under his Haras du Cadran banner. In breeding, the quality of the land and the open spaces are anything but a luxury...

One hundred mares and their offspring are based at the stud throughout the year. Each year, from the eighty yearlings on the farm, around forty are prepared for the Arqana sales.

A loyal clientele – including the well-known owner-breeder Jean-Claude Seroul who has been a supporter of Pierre Talvard since Cadran was established – have chosen the calm surroundings and the rich land of Cadran to breed and raise their stock.

The team on the stud is made up of around fifteen highly experienced and dedicated full time staff, who ensure a consistent level of high quality care for the horses.

This professionalism translates to the racetrack, as shown by the consistent number of high-class performers born and raised on the stud. For the last fifteen years Haras du Cadran has been one of the leading breeders in France thanks to the results of the stud's homebred and those of the clients.
